You never know! When family have had to have minor modifications done, they've happened within the week.

If there is going to be a delay, if there any chance you can get hold of a couple of paving stones as an interim measure?

Fingers crossed Dizzi keep letting them know you will be unable to get out if it is not done ASAP be careful with paving stones they might just be uneven and move (sorry Det) but OH has laid many slabs and they need more than just laying down .

That's OK Nolls - in the past, we've used a couple of long ones stacked on top of each other to help the older generation when they visit. As they have to hold on to the door frame anyway, they didn't find it a problem.
Obviously only a temporary solution, not permanent!

Hopefully it is like potholes. Once they have been reported, any accidents or damage are responsibility of Council. And am wondering now Social realise it is dangerous and you nearly fell, they will be doing it as quickly as possible to avoid another near miss (or worse) as you exit the Palace.

Hope it is quick and good job, Dizzi :-) :-)

Maybe a letter from your doctor may speed things up.

I needed a handrail down the side of our patio steps - were here within a week - strong metal rail cemented in. I was most surprised this service was free.

However, I am sure Dizzi you may rest contented knowing that if you fall it is the responsibility of Social Services.!!!

Take care
