I tried at school today, but no amount of wiggling and jiggling worked !

The children were shouting "you can do it, look like this" and proceeded to whirl the hoop around , but my hoop plummeted to earth after a quick wobble

I can still ride a bike, throw and catch a ball, sink instead of swim but............I have lost the ability to Hoola my Hoop :-(

Can you still do all you could when you were a child?? *sighs*

Bending down and touching your toes is a help Nolls, it's a skill you need to pick the hoop up fifty times!

I thought it was a skill that stayed with you forever, but noooooo.........it kept the children entertained though :-)

Can you still skip?

Last time I tried, my feet refused to let go of their grip on the ground & when they did, my left knee clicked loudly, I lost balance and landed on my well cushioned backside.

The episode did amuse my GP though, he actually laughed as I explained just why my knee resembled a football & I needed more anti-inflammatories.

I did remind him that he had said exercise & losing weight would help keep my arthritis in check. Between chuckles he said "I do believe I said 'Gentle exercise'

Is Hoola Hoop gentle exercise? :-D :-D :-D

I can bend over & touch my toes.. it's the standing up again that is my problem ;-)

I bought a really good hula hoop in the hope of shifting a spare tyre - but can I get it to hula - no I flippin' well can't - it thre against the wall looking at me - think I'll hve another go - I used to be so good at it once

I used to ride my bike everywhere and last year when I told my neighbour I was thinking of buying one he kindly gave me his wife's bike [she sadly died the year before] and I thought - great!!! But it's a mountain bike and I can't summon up the nerve to get on it

As for skipping, havenl' tried it since I was in school

Bet I could manage whip and top though :-D :-D

Ouch, poor you Carol

I can skip backwards and forwards, double skip the lot............ditto playing marbles and hopscotch and juggling 2 balls against a wall or up in the air.

It's just my Hula that has gone pear-shaped :-|

Oh and if I kneel down for more than 5 minutes I have to get up in stages until my ankles unlock :-)

Kitty
If you can't 'Hula' try skipping with the hoop instead.
That will impress the children.

I'll try later to see if I can keep up a hula hoop.....2nd thoughts, I'll wait until tomorrow when everyone has gone out.. They might laugh too much...............

Ann........sorry I missed your post...I've never tried to whip a top :-)

Mountain bikes are easy to ride one you get used to the weird saddles, and I am very comforted to know at least one other person who has lost their hula skills.

Jude.......stop showing off :-P :-D :-D <3
