RamblingRose...Had similar problem a couple of years ago..Thought I'd broken my arm cause of the pain...went to surgery and Doc laughed...You've got shingles he said...Evidently shingles can go inside parts of body as well as awful spots...I only had 6 spots on right shoulder but pain down to fingers was not nice...Cleared up in 2 weeks..had Amytriptolene prescribed.....LES.

lol Ann it wouldn't get me far, but I did think it was a bit mean of him , given that I was struggling with other bags also and he must have seen I looked wrecked lol.

well one thing is for sure, I won't be taking up golf or tennis lol, nor will I lift a case out of a taxi boot with that arm again . :-( the other arm is stonger and the one I would have used had the driver not stood right in the way without bothering to help. :-|

I had it, the pain over the sholder and went up to my neck, as well as down the outside of my forearm right to my middle finger. I think a similar complaint is golfers elbow where the pain is more on the inside of the arm.

Mayfield

PS I found using a mouse agravated it!

I had this happen, it is not tennis elbow. Very painful.
When it did not clear up after a few days I went to see the doc.
He told me that this injury in the ( long latin name ) small muscle is very common in people over 40 (though the young are not immune).
Cure: Brufen pills and don't strain the muscle in any way. It took about 3 months to completely clear up.
Unlike tennis elbow once the injury has cleared up it doesn't come back (touch wood).
So no golf for a bit ...

Thankyou Kay will do that, Dan is just going out and will get me some pain killers! Why does something always happen when there is so much that needs doing :-|

Rose sounds something like I had a couple of years ago,,,,,I had sonic treatment which relived it lasted a few days ahd was back again, and very painful down to the finger tips....

pull your shoulders back put arm across midriff and do outward slow circular movements it helps took months to clear up to be comfy ,it was an injured tendon.try tucking a pillow under your arm to support your shoulder,,,

lol Ann I did want to get some decorating done in the next week or so, but won't be doing it in this state, this hurts like hell when I press the shoulder, but the pain down my arm is constant, I might do a warm bottle and see if that helps

Could it be a frozen shoulder?
Had one once ,think it was from carrying shoulder bag ...very painful.was given exercises to do ,but ended up having cortisone injection which did cure it.
Go to doctor and find out.

Sounds as if you might have lifted the case awkwardly Rose. In may OH lifted his flight bag awkwardly off the overhead in the plane and pulled a muscle in his calf.

get off that ceiling woman - you'll have to redecorate

doesn't sound like tennis elbow to me - that hurts like hell when you press a certain spot on the elbow

I don't know Errol, could be...I just know it hurts lol. actually have just been pressing and it's not the elbow but my shoulder ( she says scraping herself off the ceiling and yelping in pain) :-|

did the pain go up to the shoulder and down the forearm as well?

I have 'done something' to my arm and can only put it down to lifting a case, but it is unlike any shoulder muscle pain I've had before so just wondering.... I will be going to the doctor of course if it's not better soon! but thought I'd just ask if anyone has had similar :-)
