I have full membership to both Ancestry and FMP but for BMD's my first port of call is FreeBMD as I like the easy way to shrink down your search parameters.

I know there records are not up to date, but are being updated all the time and with Postems and Amendments etc., I find the records becoming far more reliable.
:-)

Jax, perhaps the variant box is the answer. I don't use it, but was trying to see what John was talking about.

Freebmd is not complete only goes up to the 60s sometime DC

The poster hasn't said which years and if he has a platinum membership it is included anyway

Why are you not using FreeBMD that is where the bulk of the records on here are from!!!!

A much easier way to tie down any records you need to find. Will towns, counties and wild cards all available in any combination you want.

Why pay for using a record which is FREE

:-S :-D

I just tried Thomas Jackson death (No date) 15,000+ then added Essex and got 260..... both times I had other page numbers so I could view the rest

I had the variant box unticked

Andysmum did you tick the name variant boxes?

John, did you notice on 1911 census there is two of your man with same name, same age, and born same place.
I checked their signatures and they are definitely not the same persons.
I am sending you the probable deaths of both of them.

I agree with Thelma. I have just had the same result with Thomas Jackson. 56 results with page numbers and then when I added Essex there were 19 and no way to look at nos 11-19.

John, I think this needs an email to Genes Support.

Thelma,
try ticking the little boxs below Christian and Surname for variants of names.
Also try leaving out Hampshire, he may have died elsewhere.

I understand.
I entered Thomas Renyard in Genes Records death
22 results with page numbers.
I then added Hampshire,13 results only 10 showing. No page numbers.
Edit
Same with births and marriages.

Have you got a year range showing John, maybe thats the answer, If you like, you can give me the name details etc,and I`ll have a look see. Its a little hard to visualize when you cant see the actual page. :-)

Edit: I take it you are talking about GR records via Platinum membership?

I do not use the records on here...but I agree 10 to a page and you should have the numbers 1 and 2 at the top and also bottom of the list

John

John Report 28 Jun 2013 12:39

BR there is only the one list and no numers at the top, yet the heading tells me there are 17 names etc.

John , I think only 10 records per page are shown, look at the top and see if there is 2 little squares numbered 1 and 2 .

At times I click on deaths and it says 17 deaths listed but only shows 10; this has happened a few times. Any idea?

Thank you
