Walking along the cobbles in Rome.

Sitting and drinking a coffee on the Piazza Navona, watching the beautiful people walking by. Watching the artists drawing pictures for the tourists.

The sun beating down on my skin, warming me up, and then throwing a few coins in the Trevi fountain.

Then walking around the fabulous shops, and seeing a pair of shoes that I can no way afford!

Lastly, taking a late night walk, along the River, watching the moonlight playing on the water.

Donning my jacket, I step out of my front door and, within a couple of hundred yards I am approaching our local country park.

Strolling through the undergrowth, I walk alongside the now disused children's railway line, hopping on and off the sleepers as I go - like a big kid.

Trailing my fingers through the assortment of long grasses, I come across two recently felled trees......I run my hands across the mid-section, and marvel at the texture, whorls and patterns within, and try to guess the age of these magnificent once so tall trees.

I stop to watch a family of ducks on a pond and then move on to admire some wild orchids mingling with a display of buttercups and vetch. I skirt the neat and trim walled gardens and continue along through the woodland, stopping now and then to admire fauna and flora.

A squirrel leaps out from the side, crossing my path and making me jump and there are noises and scurryings in the undergrowth. As I near the end of my walk, I stop and raise my face to the sun, listening to the birdsong all around me and feel so very grateful to have all this on my doorstep.

I don't need to travel far to 'picture the scene'..........I am so fortunate........ :-)

lying in the sunshine beside a babbling brook with bees buzzing around in the clover, little lambs cryng for their mothers, the odd cow lowing and some birds twittering in the trees

Picture yourself in a boat on a river,
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies.
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly;

uh oh sorry you all had me singing...

I would be in Salamanca markets on a Saturday morning and then walk around to the harbour and have a lovely shellfish lunch. Then a drive out to Russell Falls followed by Devonshire Tea (or in my case coffee) at The Possum Shed.

But instead I live in Hobbit country but even it has nice scenery and strange goings on.

I'm on a beach in Northumberland. Not sunbathing, just looking out to sea, watching the waves breaking, and the seabirds foraging in the sand. There are no other people about, just me and OH.
Bliss! :-D

I'm on holiday in Australia the Sapphire Coast we go to the beach walk through a small wood then come out to an area of grass as tall as ourselves it's quite spooky everything is soo very quiet no one around no birds overhead after an eternity we come out into the open Oh My Goodness the cliffs are of bright orange stripes (like Ayres Rock) An amazing picture and the beach is just miles and miles of beautiful sand and not a soul to be seen it seems a shame to go down to the beach and mess it around. Alas we don't have much time to enjoy it as it took so long for us to get there but as we sit and watch the waves gently roll towards us we are transported to Paradise we sit and say nothing enjoying the silence as a soft breeze cools us down from the hot hot heat. Sadly it is time to go but oh what I would give to go back for a few hours. A place definitely to recharge your batteries. Beautiful.
