Is this ancient Egyptian statue a sign that there really is a curse of the Pharaohs? Relic of the god of death found inside mummy's tomb and kept in museum for 80 years starts SPINNING on its own

It's possible that vibration causes it.

But would have to be checked out scientfically.

Gives new meaning to the phrase 'turning in the grave' :-D

As a child I used to love visiting the Manchester museum as we lived fairly close to it. That was where I first became interested in Egyptology

Allen it has always been one of my interests as well. Back in the days when I used to flit around the world, a business meeting in Cairo I took the opportunity to spent an extra 3 days just taking in the sites. Fascinating walking round the museums in Egypt and the city of the dead is so freaky. :-)

NanaSue,

I'm envious! :-) The closest that I have got to Egypt is Cyprus back in 1970.

What a fascinating country. The history of so many cultures over the centuries

Visiting Egypt is on my bucket list

An ancient magnet?

I thought that the Chinese were the first to use magnets as compasses back in the 1400s

Perhaps there is an ancient music box under the display :-)
