Hi Dizz
I'd say it depends on what the care instructions say.
Some of the fire pits I've seen have been a lighter weight metal, which the instuctions say keep undercover when not in use to prolong its life. The heavier ones and most chimenea's can be left out side all year.

I’m sitting here waiting for the chimney sweep. He was expected eight hours ago!

With so much of my paper work inside this house, I’m suitably paranoid about fire, although everything that can be is backed up online. I’ve a huge paper archive of newspaper clippings; novels; notebooks plus bits & bobs that are irreplaceable.

Greater than my fear of fire is my love of it; the fireplace has been a source of comfort and joy to me ever since I can remember. But I must admit, the term 'Fire Pit' is new to me.

Fire pits are great to burn all garden rubbish and paper waste.

Lovely and warm to sit round when the temperature drops on a summer evening.

A couple of my family have these in their gardens and they are a lovely way to extend the time of an outside party.

Not to be confused with BBQs !

Patio heaters are very efficient but are obviously more expensive to run and not so 'green' as they are powered by gas.
