On looking in my spam folder today I had a total of 6 from 'Barclays' & 4 from 'Paypal'

Now I decided that prior to deleting I would see if either of these businesses wanted to be informed and they do.

So I forwarded 1 of each of the scam emails to their fraud depts. mentioning how many I had received.

So for
Barclays I sent mine to: [email protected]
and
Paypal: [email protected]

Now Barclays do state that they do not reply when these are forwarded but look into them all in an effort to stop them. However, I did get a reply from Paypal.

So in future when I get them I shall be forwarding on. Especially those from the Banks which I do not nor have ever banked with.

All I did was google 'reporting scammers to ...........' and the email address for the security for that business came up.

If you are worried all you need do is just open the first part of the scam email up and then forward to the appropriate busness.

But you must never give out any details to this scum..... NO bank will ask for your personal details and they will NEVER ask for your PIN and they will NEVER send someone to your home.

Keep doing it!

I was a witness in a court case in Oz, a company who kept sending emails was fined $quillions.

The man in court was a pompous twit......... thought he could intimidate me.........he thought wrong.

I type out: FORNICATE IN THE DIRECTION OF OFF, (or something very similar.)

Then I copy and paste, copy and paste, copy and paste, etc etc etc until I have the phrase typed about a million times and send that in reply. It usually works and you will not be contacted again.

It is never a wise idea to actually open scam/spam emails

My husband didn't open it he read it unopened as he was suspicious of an e-mail from Barclays as we don't have a card or account with them.

Only e-mails from sources we know are opened. All the rest are read unopened. ;-)

We are all advised never to open such mails - but since I have had Live Mail it is impossible to delete without opening them first. There is a list of unopened mails in Intray - but whereas in Outlook Express I could highlight anything sinister and click Junk then Delete - now l find clicking to highlight the indexed address simultaneously opens them. Any advice?

Me to Elizabeth. Most of those I receive are of the type informing you of problems with your account, and they have an attachment form for you to fill in an return. Cheeky buggers also have a phone line to call as well!!!!

Whenever I can send without opening I do, but in some cases you just have to open them.
