One of John Wyndham's best books. I read it years ago and also saw the film with Howard Keel and Janette Scott. Film was OK but differed a bit from the book. |

Love all John Wyndham's books - In addition to Day of the Triffids, I like: The Kraken Wakes; The Chrysalids; Trouble with Lichen; The Midwich Cuckoos, (which was made into a film but named "Village of the Damned".) |

I've still got them somewhere, I think. Definitely bought them for my daughters, but may have given them to my nephew, who was considered a 'late' reader - but the truth was, he never found anything in the library at primary school that interested him! |
