So embarrassed when I go out with my family. All of them click away with chopsticks, and this old buffer (only 67, Leslie - but old already) asks for a spoon.

Perhaps it is only the sophisticated and young at heart who have mastered chopsticks :-) ;-)

Dizzi....Really love your sense of humour....Keeps us all going and put a smile on all our faces... You are an exceptional young lady and if all the grumps and sads could pick up to your example what a lovely happy country we would be...Bless you for being you and don't ever change......LesGlen...

We eat Japanese food a lot, and always use chopsticks ............... but there are times when my hand is not working quite right (arthritis), and then I do have some problems. Have only had to ask for a fork once ......................... food was too hot to pick up with my fingers!

The server at a Japanese place I used to eat at a lot (sometimes 2 or 3 times a week) once told me that sushi were "the original finger food"!!

That was after I'd asked how to eat the "house roll" ................. they were ginormous! About 3 times larger than the average roll

I inevitably drop my sushi when picking it up with chopsticks so I go Indian and eat with my fingers.

Even the Chinese do not leave much of a gap between the bowl of rice and the mouth.

I have not tried stabbing peas with chopsticks but did get told off for lining them up on my knife to eat.. it is in a poem I read so thought I would try it.. I was about 8.

Good for you Gwen lol

I learned to use chopsticks when in a Chinese restaurant in Edinburgh with a friend and her children, they were delighted I managed to do it, well I couldn't have little'uns show me up, now could I?
