In reality.
After watching the property programmes and having had such a strict criteria for my house hunting. It does make me wonder if what we want is what we would settle for.

My criteria was min 4bed 2 bath with 2 living areas. and a large ish kitchen. on 1 level. I would have been happy to accept the 4th bed and bath upstairs if the rest of the house was right and down stairs. So out of the other bedroom I needed to create either a wet room for Mum ..or den for me. I also asked for walking distance to at least 1 shop and 1 bar/cafe and with-in a 30 min drive of OH work. I wanted some outside space for the mutts. Things that would not be a deal breaker was I wanted a pool or an area to put either pool or hot tub and we also wanted if possible off street parking.

I am happy to say we didn´t have to compromise actually I did the kitchen isn´t one you could hold a party in and the living room is not as big as I thought about ...but after saying that the are both workable and bigger than what I have now.

BUT what would be your criteria if you went after a new house?

I reckon I could live in Churchill's old pad Chartwell or at a push Hever Castle,
just enough room to spread out but not too large!
I might need a new lawnmower though ;-)

Well couldnt cope with a bigger house on my own , This 1960,s 3 bed mid terrace is getting a bit much for me know if I have to admit it

If we got a bigger house would have to get a lady that does too I think

I think want a new house includes down sizing.

Mayfield I turned 45,000 acres of land because I just knew my gardening skills were cr*p ..mind 7k up a mountain also had something to do with that , but it was a beautiful huge mega house, but alas I am not a gardener lol

I like the house we have, but I could cope better with a house on one level!

How do I get three levels onto one? lol
