said the painter.

8am came and went.

The doorbell rang at 9.15...... guess where I was?! In the loo.

By the time I got to the door, whoever it was had gone.

It's nearly 12.45pm....... OH 'phoned, said the painter called HIM on his mobile, and the painter will be here at 1pm..... or maybe he will 'phone at 1pm and come around at 3pm.

No prizes for guessing who was at the door at 9.15am

:-(

It's just gone 3pm.......

and the painter just left.

He will be here on Thursday.

When that's done, hopefully the carpenters will be back SOON to fix the squeaky floors, then the carpet man will come back........

Then we MIGHT GET BACK TO NORMAL!!!!!!!!!!!

If the insurance company had given us the money we would have painted ourselves!

A tap burst at Easter, flooded half the house, and we've been living in a tip since!

When someone comes to visit we ask if they can smell the damp. They can! We can't because we're used to it.

Things are hiding lol........ one of my boots has gone for a walk :-(

Poor you, Scozz,I hope it's all sorted soon!!

On Friday I had the central heating repairman coming;he said he would be there between 8.30 am and 9.30 am.Promptly at 8.20am
the front door bell went;he had gone by 8.40am.I was so happy
because we were then able to put on the heating system without it cutting out constantly ,or worse still,it being unable to start without us
resetting it,and so we had warmth over the week-end.

It is great when tradesmen come when they say they will, and like everyone else I have been on the receiving end of tradesmen not showing up,some of them at least have had the decency to ring me when they were going to be delayed or late,or couldn't make it at that time. There's nothing more annoying than staying home all day for a tradesman who doesn't bother to show up,and doesn't give you the courtesy of a phone call to explain why. :-( :-| :-|

The carpenters who were here last week were brilliant :-D

They worked very hard, and when they finished they vacuumed & mopped the floor!

I asked if they did part-time cleaning lol

Mayfield ~ love the gasman song lol

Linda Report 5 Jun 2013 18:53

I was not laughing at the time but I had long moved into my bungalow and had very big bedroom where this had happened and where the last people had had the bed there was a big hole in the carpet, so I got the whole room decorated and new carpet, plus a big bunch of flowers from british gas. Never seen that young lad again.

I'm glad your painter phoned hope he turns up on time tomorrow

The painter turned up at 6.30am

NOT the one who was here on Tuesday, but his offsider. Poor man was dropped off with hit kit & kaboodle, but he wasn't told exactly what he had to do!

OH is taking him to the hardware shop in a few minutes!!

Looks like he's going to be here all day.

LadyScozz Report 5 Jun 2013 23:15

It's going to be a looooooong day.

The painter just told me he wet a cloth in the downstairs bathroom......

He wondered why there was a jar in the sink.

I put it there to stop anyone using the tap......

Arrrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

doesn't matter, that vanity is being replaced.

But the jar in the sink was HUGE...one of those smelly ones with sticks in it........ didn't he wonder why it was there????

LadyScozz

LadyScozz Report 6 Jun 2013 04:10

the painter went outside.......

and came face to face with a snake!

It's winter! What's that snake doing here?

The painter boss turned up five minutes later and laughed at us.

OK, it was only 2' long........ :-(

I'm with the painter...... a snake is a snake!!

The painter is originally from London, I don't think they get many snakes there.
