I have my own theory about the sinking of the Mary Rose within site of land.

On hearing that the Mary Rose had sailed the ladies from the local brothels ran out to wave goodbye and show off their wares for the sailors who would return to port laden with prize money.

Everybody rushed to one side get an eyeful and the ship heeled over capsizing as a result! :-D

I didn't have any ancestors that sailed on the Mary Rose.

My friends dad was one of the volunteer divers though.

Thanks for the link Gwyn.

A fascinating view of the Mary Rose as it was and very interesting to read details of the crew members and how they must have looked.
I'd certainly love to, one day, visit the museum. Can only imagine what she looked like when new? don't think i'd have had ancestors onboard...but there again 'we might have' :-)
