Concerns about the safety of another teenage girl

The man who lived three doors up from me is serving twelve years for repeatedly raping his long-term partner, the mother of his three children.

Nobody had an inkling and I wish I could have been a better friend to her so that she could have turned to us for support.

Who is my neighbour?

From personal experience, I sometimes find it difficult to strike up even a nodding relationship with those nearby.

Having decided to move recently after 21 years residence, next door invited me in for a farewell drink. That was my first & last chance to be inside their front door although they frequented my humble abode at the drop of a hat - litterly.

Wouldn't it be good if someone goes missing the police could issue a certain code and everyone then checked out their neighbours house next door to them....... OK I know it wouldn't work ...but just maybe . Was thinking about the girls in US that were found alive and living in an ordinary house, if only .......
Please don't shout me down I know it's a daft idea!

Dermot - that is an excellent initiative on the part of your local police

Just recently, I have received two pre-recorded phone calls from the local police station giving brief details of & asking for assistance in tracing missing persons in my area.

The calls are genuine in that any sighting of the missing individuals should be reported to the local police station - telephone number & incident number quoted.

In both instances, I received further calls a few days later confirming that both persons had been located.

Seems a sensible idea.
