Problem with Tree saving

I never know the right or best place to ask questions about the Genes Family Tree!
So here goes - I have had the following issue when using the 'full' tree:

I sent a message to Genes Reunited yesterday when I was in my tree, but I realize now that I can't expect to get an answer via that route.

When I was in the 'full' version of the tree and had added some information, I then discovered that I could not see the 'save' button at the bottom of the page. What I can see is just the top edge of three buttons but cannot read the text.

I am using Google Chrome as this seems to be the only stable environment for the tree that I have found. Can anyone recommend the best way of getting 'all' the tree page to show. Is it just me that has the problem? or is the common plight of all members?

I have asked support to get one of the experts to have a look at this and advise, but I'm not going to hold my breath. Thank you all in advance for your help with this.............

Regards

Peeemm :-S

May not help, but I expand or reduce the size of my view by using Ctrl & the + or - key. I am using Windows 7 and Mozilla Firefox.

I have very poor eyesight and as a result I need to expand my view to do any work on my tree, compose messages, write comments on threads, or create e-mails.

A friend showed me this, I use Ctrl and + key to do the above and then use Ctrl and - key to access save or send buttons.

Hello onefootinthegrave and nollsfromharrogate, thanks for responding.
the Ctrl + did not do what I needed, it just increases the text size but did not help my stated problem.
HOWEVER did get a reply from the lovely Julie in support, and I got it fixed.
I changed from Google Chrome as my browser and went back to IE9 then followed her instructions. I will cut and paste this in another message just in case others have a similar problem :-D

I don't think Genes will mind me posting this, as it might help others:)

Dear Peeemm

Thanks for contacting us and we're really sorry you're unable to fully view the details panel.

We've discovered that the issue is caused by the compatibility settings on your browser.

You'll need to make sure the compatibility view is turned off and you should be able to view the details panel in full with no problems.

To do this go to your browser toolbar and click 'tools', then 'compatibility' view and ensure it's switched off.

You can also turn it off by clicking the icon on your address bar. You should be able to see it after the website address, to the right hand side, you'll see a magnifying glass, a downward arrow then what looks like a torn piece of paper. If the compatibility view is switched on, then it will be blue, if it's off, it will be grey.

If this doesn't help, then please try zooming out by clicking on the Ctrl and - keys on your keyboard (Ctrl and + will zoom you back in again).

I hope this helps Peeemm, but do let us know if you have any problems and we'll do our best to advise further.

Kind Regards,

Julie
