a friend of many years standing 'saw the light'. Fine, I had no problem with that until one day I received a letter from her - two typed pages of A4 - all about God and her discovery - not a word of anything outside this topic.

I wrote back saying that if she found comfort and pleasure in her new experience that was fine by me and I was glad for her - however I had not changed and that I was still the 'same old me'.

It worked, we speak regularly, we laugh, gossip, relive the past
and if she mentions she was at a prayer meeting last night - I ask if she had a pleasant evening and that is it. We still exchange 'funny' birthday and christmas cards.

I am a firm believer that one's faith is a private thing.

I can't agree more everyone's entitled to their own beliefs as long s they don't try to "convert" the other, could go on but won't.

I am probably not a Christian but have a friend who very much is.So much so that she is completely comfortable and relaxed in her faith and does not think to mention it other than as just something she does like the washing or shopping.

Athough I am probably not a Christian I will help anybody if I can.

I was going to London to work one day and stopped in a Little Chef on the A3.There was a woman who had been taken ill in there so I took her home,leaving her car for the family to pick up later because she had no breakdown cover.

We agreed she needed breakdown cover and mine would give me money for recruiting somebody so I gave her my name and address (kind but crafty?).

I later had a thank you letter from her, which I was not expecting, but she had also put Jehovah's Witness information leaflets in it.

Really,I would rather not have had the letter than have those in it!
