I hope I never ignore somebody consciously, though I realise I sometimes do it. I just look at a crowd of people and miss a friend in the crowd. Or I see posts that may require an answer from me, but just forget to answer one or two.

We all do it, I suspect. I just try again the following day as if nothing untoward has happened. I honestly can't think of anybody who I would want to go away for ever - I have never met anybody who has not enriched my life in some way.

You know how sometimes we will cross the road rather than have to catch the eye of someone we don't like talking to. There is a lot to be said for holding your head high & maintaining dignified silence.

Of course, I'm the exception as I never act like this because I suffer badly with the propensity to be curious. Begorrah!
