A band of defiant pensioners has told housing bosses seeking to evict them that they “will not be going anywhere”.

Led by 87-year-old resident Jo Hopkin, residents of Cairn Housing Association’s Laverockbank Terrace have vowed to occupy their complex and have said they will be seeking legal advice over the decision to close the facility.

Former teacher and a grandmother-of-seven Jo, a long-time community activist, said: “We’re all shocked by this bombshell, but if they want to move us out then the only place we’d accept would be the Balmoral Hotel, other than that we are not going anywhere. They think we’re all past it and senile but, let me tell you, we’re not.

Researching:
I am researching the Wotherspoon family from the Old/New Monkland areas of Scotland, some moved to the Leslie and Kelty areas of Fife and I'm having problems linking the Wotherspoon's from Leslie and the Wotherspoon's from Kelty. I am also researching the Clusker family from Co. Meath in Ireland who moved to West Lothian and from there to Fife............"Vita non est vivere sed valere vita est"

No, Kay, it looks as though they are being turfed out and being left to find their own accommodation!!

That is disgusting!!!!
....yet we're paying for MP's to live in lovely flats/houses in London, while they rake in a fortune in rent on their 'other' homes.

So the poor and elderly don't have 'homes', they merely have places they stay.
