It was a bit of a surprise to see him flying up there too. A sudden flurry of blue shooting up past the front window.

Oh yes,I see.He grew a pair in the middle of the narrative.

Somebody near me once had a peaock escape. It strutted around the area for a few weeks before it was caught and those weeks coincided pretty well with the time he was looking for a woman.

He particularly enjoyed looking out for one from the convenient height of our roof and liked to call,just in case he had missed one.

\it puts a whole new angle on startled to have a peacock call down your chimney when you are not prepared.

First time in over 20 years they've taken an interest in the chimney.
I'm wondering if there has been wire over it, and it's now rusted.

Cooing has stopped, presume pigeon has taken the hint :-D

I keep hearing the pigeons cooing down the chimney and it sounds as if they are stuck.

Back a few years we had to get an gas engineer in to take out the gas fire as there were 2 crows, one dead and one still alive in the back.

OH has put wire over the chimney stacks to prevent it happening again. :-|

Not because I'm cold, just while Iain Duncan Smith was waffling on the news, I heard another sound - the constant cooing of a pigeon coming down the chimney...........(yes. it's difficult to tell the difference)

Checked it wasn't stuck up the chimney (Pigeon not IDS) - no soot fall etc, (don't like the parasite carrying things, but wouldn't be cruel), and lit the fire to discourage the 'darling' from nesting on the chimney :-|

Unfortunately, most of my wood is dry, so not much smoke.

I hope the creature isn't now up there giving itself a parasite-removing 'smoke' :-| :-| :-| :-|
