Much more rivetting than edited threads, etc.....

After the 20 second or so advert watch the video at:

http://www.break.com/index/the-presidential-gatling-gun-651141/

Have you ever wondered what all those extra SUVs are in Presidential or VIP motorcades? You know, the ones with seriously black tinted windows. The SUVs that no one gets in or out?

Wonder no more. They have a 6 barrelled 7.62 mm mini Gatling gun. These fire over 4,000 rounds per minute.
The wipers need to be run to remove spent casings when the weapon is firing!

This video is from the company - DillonAero - that makes the rigs. The vehicle is also armour plated. (Surprise!)

Look at the speed the empty cases are ejected.

(I wonder if the cases / heat ruin the paint or the windscreen?)

Definitely 'Guy Stuff'. Love to have a 'go'.

The gun looks like a scaled down version of the GAU 8/A Avenger 7 barrel 30mm 4,200 rpm cannon which was nicknamed the tank buster and is fitted to the A10, so powerful the aircraft would stall mid air, So they can only fire it in short bursts, A very deadly weapon system

Yeah! Great fun though, eh, Roy?

Imagine this baby on a shooting range and you pay to have a go. (If only!)

You'd need a mortgage for a (big) magazine's worth of bullets!

Dream on, eh!

PS. Wish we'd had these babies on our choppers!

The Apache Prince Harry flies has a similar system

I was heavily into shooting in my Army days "Infantry" my speciality was the GPMG in the sustained fire role and map predicted fire

Never fired the GPMP. Used the good old trusty Bren a lot, however!

We still had the bren but it was used more in NI because of its accuracy
