Queen Elizabeth II was born 21 April 1926

Researching:
I am researching the Wotherspoon family from the Old/New Monkland areas of Scotland, some moved to the Leslie and Kelty areas of Fife and I'm having problems linking the Wotherspoon's from Leslie and the Wotherspoon's from Kelty. I am also researching the Clusker family from Co. Meath in Ireland who moved to West Lothian and from there to Fife............"Vita non est vivere sed valere vita est"

What an amazing woman. I can hardly remember her father. I remember watching her Coronation on a small black and white TV and it was first time I had watched TV (aged 6). Later we saw the colour film at school and the colours and the majesty were very impressive.

She visited our School in Wolverhampton in 1958 (450 years anniversary). I remember we were all so excited, and she seemed to look personally at all 550 of us. An air of modest and calm self-assurance, in a very male environment. I think all the boys (11-18) were very impressed with her visit.

I watched some of the Thatcher funeral last week, and she seems to have changed so little in over 50 years. Very difficult to realise she is now 87 (edited 1514hrs) and Prince Philip is 92. :-)

God save the Queen. Happy birthday, Ma'am.

Our Queen has had a lovely weekend, Friday and Saturday she spent at Newbury Races and on Friday one of her horses won.

Lovely photo of her cheering it on in most of the papers.

OH was there on Friday and she came within about 4' from him and so he doffed his hat (she did not knight him).
