The last one I ordered was issued 15th March, a Friday, and received the following Tuesday. It was ordered the previous Friday evening.

I ordered one from the GRO on the 29th March with a despatch date given of 8th april.

I did receive it on the 9th of April.

Normally despatched after 5 working days with ref, without ref 15 working days. If not received after a further 5 working days after the date you were quoted when placing the order then report non-delivery using the on-line form.

I too am awaiting certs from GRO. I ordered them (without the GRO Ref) and estimated date of despatch is 15th April (ordered on 21st March in the morning) and 17th April (ordered on 22nd March after 6pm). Usually - even with 2nd class post I have been receiving them the day following the day they advise as day of despatch - so was expecting the first one yesterday - and as I speak one has dropped through my door.

A friend ordered a cert on March 23rd & had a projected delivery date of April 17th. As it has to be sent to Spain, she´s unlikely to recieve it before the 24th April.
A month seems an awful long time to me, even allowing for Easter.

They are roughly sending the certs out a good 10 days after the receiving the order.
But don't forget GRO would have been shut for about 6 days for Easter.

Karen is best waiting until tomorrow for the post and see if it turns up then.

It does seem rather a long time from ordering to date ot dispatch but there could be a couple of explanations.

If you order after 4pm, the calculation starts on the next working day which in your case could have been Mon 25 March. That was the beginning of Easter week, with both the following Friday and Monday as Bank Holidays.

Certs are sent 2nd class inland post - hold ups can occur within the postal system.

All the same, they must have had quite a back log to start with to calculate 10 working days?

One question - did you quote the gro ref and only put on the name details shown there? If you didn't then, checking-details does mean that it takes longer to find a certificate which matches.

Leave it until Tomorrow to see if the cert turns up that is giving 2 days for delivery from their office to you.
I know it takes a couple of days for delivery as I have just received one cert that I ordered over a week ago..

Then give them a ring if it doesn't turn up.

hi
i ordered a cert from gro on 22nd march and it was due for despatch yesterday is this the norm ?as i ordered one from pontypridd records office and had it back within 2 days ,and how long should i leave it before contacting them.
