Please can anyone tell me where I can look for information about the WRAF. I have recently discovered someone who was a WRAF and would like to find out about what her responsibilities were etc and also if there are traceable records online to be accessed - free if possible. Thank you in advance x

When?

/womens-royal-air-force-wraf-1918-1920.aspx

With some links to WW2 details
.......

This will help for personnel records, but there may be some cost to pay. The amount really depends on whether the records are on the NA site, or still with the MOD

Do you mean WRAF or WAAF.

Women's Royal Air Force 1918 - 1920 Disbanded.

Women's Auxiliary Air Force 1939 - 1949

became Women's Royal Air Force again 1949 until 1994 then fully assimilation to Royal Air Force.

she was in the Women's Royal Air Force Pat I didn't even know there was one till 2 days ago. Its more likely to be during WW1 as her age fits and having a break from having her children x
