How do people afford these places

Tiddler wanted to do something during the holidays and is into lego at the minute so we said we would take her to legoland. Left Laddo (he didnt want to go) and dog with sister and stayed in hotel overnight drove last little bit in morning. Now if it was the 3 of us at normal prices with carparking would of cost us over £126 the good thing is I had a voucher for pay for child adult gets in free and as Im in disabled hubby got in free as my carer which means was just under £40 .

The place was packed how do people afford it over £45 for an adult and almost £36 per child add on hotel and petrol and dont know how people afford to go t o all these places every holiday time. glad she doesnt want to go back again.

Many will have used things like vouchers from money saving websites and from store cards like nectar and tesco or even through credit cards which give you money back etc.

There are many deals to be had for all of these places

And also this may have been the only outing for these families for which they have saved and other family members may have contributed. I know when niece takes her kids out I will often give them some money to help out as I know how expensive a day out for a family can be.

Dawnie, I tried to take my lad out when I could when he was young but we never went to places a long way off as I wouldn't have been able to afford to stay over and it was too far for me to drive there and back in a day, on my own with a child.

It always amazes me that folks can afford these trips out especially if they have more than one child. I am glad you managed to get in fairly reasonably and enjoyed the trip.

You've probably hit the nail on the head Dawnie - most people would have collected or used vouchers to help with the cost.

We have been to Legoland in its previous incarnation, and we also once went to Alton Towers. The later was our 'holiday' with 3 nights self-catering so that we could also visit other places. We'd collected vouchers for the entrance fee, and even 'bought' one off a neighbour as we were one short!
