Brilliant, PP. That sort of Eureka moment is what it is all about.

Do you think WDYTYA would take you to Holland, Spain and India to dig further?

Well done PigletsPal, hope you have same success with those who went to the US, I have given up on my lot who went over there.

Through a general query I posted on Rootschat on the Bristol board I have been contacted from the Netherlands (me in London) and this lovely man has sent me details of a whole set of siblings who no matter how hard I looked was never able to find 3 of the 4.

No wonder, 1 went off to fight in WW1 met a girl in Holland married and never came home. Another brother similar but in Spain after WW1. Sister went to India and married a teaplanter. Last brother never left UK permanently so he was easy to follow around.

I am just so happy that a simple query about a place name (I mentioned the childrens father who had a very unique name) brought about this amazing new connection.

I can now add The Netherlands, Spain and India to the places my family live.

Now if only I could find the Irish lot who went to the US then I would be happy, but as I do not even know their names that will be a non-starter. :-D
