When I was at School in the 1970s we had flying board rubbers in the classrooms which were hurled by certain teachers. We learned to duck and dodge :-)

Talking about school children, they can now buy a 'Lernstift' - a new biro invention from Germany which can detect spelling mistakes & will buzz menacingly to highlight the errors as they happen.

Crammed into its barrel are some high-tech motion sensors that trace the movement of the pen & smart-phone style electronics that give it enough computing power for a word recognition system. So, pupils should not blot their copybooks any longer.

Not too sure if it works with American style spelling though.

This has just been on the BBC news,

Couldn't believe that the lad went home to recover from being hit with the flapjack.

Where were the women that are supposed to be in the dinner hall oversseing the kids while they have their meals.

I agree they shouldn't have been throwing food but it doesn't matter what the shape of the flapjack is.

The lad must have been a bit of a wimp having to go home to recover.

Just read this lol - cannot believe that square flapjacks is considered the answer!!
Maybe safe circular flapjacks could have been used as frisbees :-D

Note nothing is being said about whether there were any disciplinary measures taken against the pupils involved - little treasures musn't be upset or have their rights to free expression taken away ;-)

Keep the Triangular versions and expel the children who threw them,

bring back Corporal Punishment, six of the best will do them a world of good.

School dinner staff at a secondary school in Essex have been banned from serving triangular versions of the flapjack after one was thrown, hitting a boy in the face.

Critics have pointed out that a square flapjack has more sharp edges than a triangle shaped one.
