I love this story in the DM on line.

Mid-way through the journey from London Euston to Milton Keynes, the driver announced on the tannoy: ‘This is a special message to the lady travelling in first class in the middle of the train.

'Please refrain from shouting on the phone as you are annoying other passengers.’

The embarrassed passenger promptly ended her phone call, much to the delight of fellow commuters.

lolol

I used to get the train to work, most of the mobile 'phone users were teenage school kids ~ talking to their friends at the other end of the carriage! Most of them shouting, laughing and being generally obnoxious. Too early in the morning for that!

Thank goodness they weren't on the train on the way home.

:-(

I heard that Ann, apparently it was the last straw after most of the passengers had asked her to stop shouting ( noo need is there?)

This is one of my bugbears when folk yell into their mobiles.
A few years ago was on a train to London when a young lad had a conversation with his girl friend.....what they were having for their evening meal, where they were going that evening and who they were meeting ?? :-S ..we and other passengers were squirming in our seats and when he got off the train,an hour later :-| we all said "Goodbye".

I like that train driver :-D

I thought mobile phones weren't to be used in the seating areas on trains? That didn't last long did it?

I had to ask a young woman behind me on the bus to keep her voice down, She wasn't even on the phone - just talking to her friend sitting next to her! Her voice was so loud and piercing it was hurting my ears. :-0

Well done that train driver!!
I went to Brighton in the 'silent' carriage once - and couldn't hear myself think for the mobiles going off and loud conversations.
The guard went through twice - and never said a thing.
I seriously thought abut lighting up - I bet something would have been done then!! :-|

My daughter was once on a train where a guy was on the phone to his girlfriend. It soon became clear that he was asking her to move in with him. After some time listening to his one sided conversation my daughter couldn't stand it any longer and leaning over to his seat she tapped him on the arm and said 'well did she say yes?' The boy grinned and nodded his head an everyone around him cheered.
