The horse my youngest has been sponsoring for the last 4 years or so had sadly passed away. Felicity lived at one of the Redwings horse sanctury and I was able to assure her that Felicity would have recieved the very best of care at Redwings. Redwings do fanastic work if you get time please google their site and take a lookk . G is sad, but assured me she will never forget Felicity even though she wants to chose another horse to sponsor. G is allegic to animals so sponsoring is the closest she has got to a pet. RIP Felicity x

You must be proud of G wanting to sponsor an animal when allergic to them.

Thank you ladies for lovely comments and for keeping this thread positive x
if any child was a born animal lover its G. She makes me v proud she surrounds herself with pictures, books abt animals and dvds abt animals - she has many problems she has had to overcome she would have loved a house full of animals but she makes the most of it. We have taken her to the sanctuary before but because her allergies are more air borne rather than the touchy feely type she has to be limited around them. Redwings is grt they really care for the horses and for someone like G they send regular mail and photos as well as a newsletter to tell all sorts of news abt all their horses x

How sad that somebody who is such a lover of animals is allergic to them. And sad too that Felicity has died. But how lovely that she channels her allergies in a positive way by supporting and sponsoring a horse, that is a wonderful idea. Let us know when she ggets a new one to sponsor. Well done G.

Will do Ann she is waiting for the weather to pick up and she can go and see them if only for a brief amount of time. I always admired her for wanting to put the bit of pocket money she earns each week towards something so worthy x

Does she go for a big horse or pony?

Or does she prefer to pick one on a colour?

I would love to live near a horse or donkey sanctuary.

FootieAngel, it may be that as your daughter gets older the allergy will go, a relative of mine was allergic but now is not. Fingers crossed !

I used to sponsor a Shetland pony from either Redwings or Bransby, can't remember which, his name was Paul, like my boyfriend at the time lol, and mum sponsored a goat :-D Both Redwings and Bransby do such good work so well done to your daughter for supporting them.

Glitterbaby - She said she doesn't mind. She knows they take good care of them at Redwings so is happy to keep sponsoring there. She was such a beautiful donkey and so well behaved and gentle. Thank you for the link I had only seen the letter she had received it has a link to make donations so that will come in useful x

Rose - that would be excellent if it happened that way. I think the first thing we would need would be a bigger place to hold all the different animals she would rescue and then her big time ambition riding lessons. I like the idea of the goat they are such lovely animals. I must take a look at Bransby site I'm sure she will want to see it too. Thank you x
