Gwyn thank you for the recipe I have downloaded it and will give it a try next week. Since OH has been borderline diabetic I only bake once a week (to prevent temptation).

lovely sunny day here in Cardiff - been to the quack to have bloods taken - five phials!!!! and to deliver a urine sample - X-rays on Wednesday next - in other words a full MOT!!! never had one before - hoping for a good outcome

Am going into Cardiff this evening with my lovely friend where no doubt we'll have some retail therapy and then finish off with a meal in Wagamamas

I might get round to some housework in the next day or two, but then again, maybe not!!!

I was in a bit of a grump last night, not good.....

Today however, things are brighter.

I give thanks to my lovely placid OH for putting up with me, my grown up children who are lovely people - yes, I will take some credit for that.

I give thanks to the lovely friends in my life, where would we be without friends?

I give thanks that my parents are still alive and will be able to share my only daughters wedding day in three weeks time. <3

In short, I am very glad to be alive :-) and enjoy this beautiful world we live in.

I met my daughter and youngest grandson today. I was going to go to the records office in my lunch break, and listen to a lecture on Old Romsey.
Instead I had a coffee with my daughter and got lots of kisses off Jago (2 year old grandson), who, according to my daughter has a 'limited supply of kisses'.

I feel well honoured :-D

Son just rang - he suffers from peri anal abscesses and was waiting for an MIR scan to find the cause of this persistent problem - well MIR scan hasn't materialised, last op in October - at the moment he's on his way to hospital for the 12th lot of surgery - I'm livid and am going to writr to the hospital giving them my thoughts on this major cock up - every time this happens he has to lose work, that's apart from the suffering and pain

Oh dear Ann Is this still going on ? I remember you mentioning it before. I can understand how angry and frustrated you must feel. It is unacceptable the way the NHS is treating it's patients. To be honest I really don't think the bureaucrats see patients as people. I hope your son will get some satisfactory treatment from his visit today.

Its a gloomy day here today, I am just waiting for Sainsburys to deliver the shopping.

well I've just written this letter to the hospial - son probably won't thank me for it, but I'm livid

I write to express my bewilderment with the way in which my son’s problem has been handled by your hospital

For over twenty years he has been plagued with peri anal abscesses following the first operation in Llandough Hospital to remove an ingrowing hair. Since that time he has suffered 10 more of these abscesses, all requiring surgery, and today he is on his way to your hospital for the second time in about five months for the 12th such operation.

The surgeon who did the op last at your hospital was of the opinion that when he suffered that initial ingrowing hair, that Llandough had not removed the complete hair and that was the cause of the continuing problems – he therefore said an MRI scan would be arranged in order to find the root cause

This MIR scan has not materialised – surely it would be more cost effective for him to have the MIR scan than these persistent operations? This is apart from the pain and suffering caused every time.

He is a train driver and has been all his working life and he is losing work time and time again. There have been numerous times when he has managed to get antibiotics in time to allay an operation

Please can this be sorted out satisfactorily in order to stop these continuing operations

Dear Ann. I am so sorry, it is understandable that are so very upset and angry I can feel your frustration. You have stated the case clearly, one can only hope is that the appropriate person gets to read it. I hope something is sorted soon your poor boy must be in agony, and for it to have been going on for so long is really a disgrace.
