Does anyone else have trouble accessing their sent messages? Every time I try it times out. :-(

always have a problem getting into sent messages - once in a blue moon I manage to access them

If I am in my Inbox and try to go to Sent Messages on the left, it times out.
However, if I go to Messages towards top right and then click on Sent Messages, it is normally OK.
Hope this works for you, too.

I have to refresh (F5) to get into them and then F5 again for each message. Pain. (Firefox)

Yes. There has been an error message for a long time. GR said it would be sorted.

When I try to look at Sent Messages, 9 times out of 10 I get the Error Message.

Given up telling GR about it.

They will "get around to it"
