Oh dear!!! I suppose surfeiting on anything is not good. Everything in moderation, my old gran used to say. :-D :-D

Oh dear, I did put a warning up on the 'bags under eyes' thread about brassicas and taking meds.

Myself I just love sprouts :-)

OH used to push his arround the plate but he likes them too now. The kids would eat as many as I cooked :-)

Not another sprouts thread :-D

I will regrettably have to remove myself from this discussion as I had sprouts at school and don't like them very much - always push mine round plate and cannot see any salvation this late in life :-( :-( :-(

I used to hate them, but quite like them now. I think they've developed better more palatable sprouts, as they don't taste bitter as they used to.
Article in the Daily Mail this morning - some farmer in Lincolnshire has developed sprouts the size of snooker balls, and are on sale in Tesco at £1.50 for eight.

Bit difficult to hide those ones, Brenda! :-D

We absolutely love them and Christmas dinner would not be the same without them. We also grow them in abundence.
In fact,I have crocheted his & hers sweaters with 'I Just Lubs Brussels' across the front, to wear when we eat our Christmas dinners.

Just showed OH this link Brenda as he takes Warfarin.
He has hospital check ups regularly and only been advised to stay clear of cranberries.
He loves sprouts but says chap must have eaten dozens to become so ill.

Our family have always liked 'em and nowadays I toss them in bacon & chestnuts....yum :-D

I did see an article in the DM re sprouts and people on blood thinning meds. Where a man ended up in hospital because the sprouts (and I believe other greens) cause blood to clot and overule the meds. A doctor said to eat in moderation. So I assume good sense is involved like with many things. But best not ignored. (like grapefruit and statins). :-)
