You could just forward your concerns to Bright Solid directly & inform them of what has been going on for a long time now. Many members have asked for proper 24/7 moderation as GR staff rarely ever deal with the real problems that accur, They just give out bans without reading the threads. If members inform GR of any problem an e-mail is sent from GR saying they will look into it & nothing gets done about it. So if the members start to go directly to Bright Solid maybe things will start to be done if paid up members ask.

Thanks Ken.

If members are happy with the status quo then they have never been RRd for absolutely no good reason and that includes genuine newbies FGS.

If I RR I tell the poster why I did. *lightbulb moment* over on suggestions.

The FoI act at present applies to public services. There is a demand to include private companies that provide services to the public sector.

Dunno Ann, that's why it needs a bit more investigation. However if I ask about RRing that only applied to me it doesn't compromise anyone else other than the person/s doing the RRing and the reason they are giving.

If the reason is not true (and patently some of my posts do not contravene anything in the T & Cs) and the RR is upheld and I get the usual warning they would have to explain to me why they upheld the complaint. That would make a change from the 'we cannot discuss individual cases' stock reply.

does the freedom of information overule the data protection act? 'cos that is what they'd probably throw at you.

Good shout, Sue. GR does seem to review these rr's quite thoroughly now compared to a couple of months ago. So an irritation only.

But I was out at a certain place (have the plan if any doubting Thomjases or Thomasines wants it copied :-D) and was really annoyed when I tried to read a thread. Could hardly find one to read in its entirety :-( :-(

A friend mentioned the Freedom of Information Act today and if it could be applied to GR and the information they hold concerning who is RRing and the reasons given.

Needs a bit more digging to see if we can ask but how revealing that could be if GR do have to respond.

As per usual John, your theory is wrong

The link to the thread is fine, Why is your first assumption always that a thread/post would/would not be RR'd

Don't think OP will get rr'd here. My theory is that they cant open links. Or contribute to threads either. ;-)
