There are two big Christmas cakes cooking in the oven. I kind of adapted a Dundee recipe and used up all the old bits of fruit I had,and some alcohol to soak it all in so the mixture is very fruity and alcoholic and there is a lot of alcohol soaked fruit left to make something else with, like a bellyache maybe!

Unfortunately, in my enthusiasm, I forgot to put any spice at all in either cake!

I will have to say it is a special, authentic ,plain ,recipe dating back to some special ancestor!

No worries, Sharron, people won't notice the lack of spices with all that booze you put in! *frets....don't give too much to Fred or he might take off :-D :-D

With the oven giving off all those alcoholic fumes you won't need a drink today to get tipsy. :-D
