........regarding your outstanding refund blah blah...

Such a pity that no-one has invented a technique whereby recorded messages also pick up responses. :-| :-| :-P :-P

DId you see the sory about the man who took one of these companies to the small claims court and got his claim for £20 a minute(or whatever) for his time upheld...?

My accident must have been worse than I thought.
I've got amnesia as well as whiplash.
I don't even recall the accident.
Who am I?

Island

Island Report 12 Dec 2012 10:47

No, I didn't see that story Eldrick. I'd have more satisfaction knowing that my brief response was recorded than wasting time listening for £20 per minute.

Brian, I think I must have been involved in the same accident as yourself :-D

Hey, for 20 quid a minute i would listen to anything. 30 minutes a day would tide me over nicely.

The problem with a successful claim in the small claims court is that you have to enforce it somehow - the court won't do it for you.

It is technically easy to record both ends of a telephone conversation but is illegal without the consent of the other party. Not that investigative journalists are much bothered. That is why you so often hear "This conversation may be recorded for training purposes" which is taken as consent.

Evidence not legally obtained and disclosed to the defense cannot be used in court. Which, apart from small claims, is why Teresa May has her knickers in a twist and we provide sumptuous lodgings for enemies of the state.

If despite these warnings you wish to record both ends of yr phone conversations inc the rec machine then a quick google or search on eBay and outlay of a small sum will do the trick.

Well, they will pick it up just fine but don't worry Parliament is about to decriminalise insulting behaviour. You didn't know that insults are illegal ? Tsk tsk a guy got arrested and tried for saying woof woof to a dog "in an insulating way" "likely to distress the dog an its owner".

It's a wonder we only get referred, insult somebody on FB and they'll be around to feel yr collar.

In an insulating way? :-S Nothing shocking about that ;-) :-D

I only said p off to a recorded message and I don't have collar feelers on my friends list :-D :-D
