What a terrible night that was, Awful for all those involved.

I remember the horrible news reports that evening .

My son was on a train that passed through thankfully the doors did not open and no one alighted .. to this day I do not know how the driver of that train was made aware of the situation as I am sure it was before radio communication in the cabs.

My heart goes out to the families of those that died and survivors still traumatised

I believe it wasn't until recently that the identity of an unknown man who perished was discovered.

Dear All

Hello

Hope you are okay.

25 years ago today, a fire started at Kings Cross station in London.

Many passengers were trapped underground as an escalator went up in flames.

More than 150 firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the blaze and searched for survivors.

The final death toll was 31 and one was the lead Fireman Colin Townsley.

Many others suffered injuries.

Investigators said the most probable cause of the fire was a discarded match.

After the King's Cross fire, wooden escalators were phased out.

In 1991 a report found only eight of the 26 safety recommendations made after the inquiry had been implemented fully.

To the anger and outrage of victims' relatives, nobody and no authority was
prosecuted.

Take gentle care
Sincere wishes
Elizabeth, EOS
