My husband wanted to give our eldest grandson, aged 17 and 9 months, some driving practice, just 1 or 2 hours a week just until he has a test, not a permanent driver. Hubby has a no claims bonus.
The quote? £3,500. I could'nt believe it! How are learner drivers meant to get practice - or are driving schools on a nice little earner knowing that lessons are the only way of practising?

Very annoyed!!! :-P

Insurance is just another thing that need looking into by government,

I find it hard to believe that the cost can be justified

My son worked on building a new house for a bloke (No names) but he is the owner of one insurance company and his new house cost 48 million to build and is to big for the national grid to supply power at an affordable price so the 48 million includes building his own generating plant to supply the house, the plant costs 40k per quarter to operate

I have no problem with any company making a reasonable profit but most have just got far to greedy

its cheaper to insure my house and contents, it cost me more than double to insure my car which is nowhere near the value of my home. we are being ripped off yet again.

insured eldest on my insurance while she learnt so I could take her out and wasnt near as much as that and yes I had no claims .
When she passed got a good deal for a year then it went up by £500 so shopped around and now use admiral multi car and when I changed it to her main driver and me 2nd they gave her some no claims as she had been on my insurance for a couple of years.

Dreading having to do it all again next year when Laddo learns.

Someone somewhere is amking soo much money out of us and nowadays they need transport ot go further afield for work.
