Looking for more figures for grandson and I stumbled upon this. I think I'll give it a miss.

Rose, I have just come around from a dead faint :-S

We could buy a small house in Wales for that!

Grandson plays with the old Lego from the 80s which belonged to our children and will play with it for 8 hours straight! He's not yet 2 and a half..lolol

He makes up his stories as he plays and tells us what is happening. Grandad sits with him for part of the time so the new Lego is more for Grandad ;-)

Another year and it'll be the Meccano :-D

He has all the high tech toys but will play with things where he has to think for himself and seems totally absorbed.

xx

I've kept loads of Lego which my 31 yr. old son used to play with, in my loft, which I've been saving for any grandsons. I have a 2 year old grandson and have been dying to get it down for him. Mmmm, might think differently now.

I was going to comment on the £1,000 postage, Lesley - that is monstrous.

No wonder there are no bids so far :-0

Edit - just looked at your the link you put on Rose - £45,000, same seller, something funny going on methinks.

perhaps his finger stuck on the '0' :-S

I notice he only has 1 star too - so possibly a beginner.

My grandchildren have their mum's & aunties Duplo & Lego 'on loan' - when younger daughter has children, they will get a 'loan' :-D

No Wend.

It makes sense for this price as does the shipping if you read why the figure has been set at that. It's in the blurb later on.

It's a wonderful collection. I'd have it in a blink if I could. Just shown it to hubby and he says it's good too.

It makes me want to get the kids train sets out of the loft and play :-D

I remember a pre-Lego thing called BACO which had steel wires which you inserted into a base then slid bricks down to make walls. Don't think it lasted. Lego must have come out about 50 years ago as I remember my Mum buying me some when I was twelve.

About ten years ago I bought the Robotics set which you could programme with a PC. I played with it and it was fun but it's back in the box and waiting for E-Bay when I get round to it. :-D

My Son loved his Lego from a very young age starting with duplo and ending up with the Star Wars fleet. It's all made up now and boxes up and he wouldn't part with it for the world :-D

It is very expensive but he has had many happy hours of play value over the years

My elder sister had that, Malcolm!! Lethal wires :-0

I never got to get my hands fully on it, because as soon as she'd outgrown it, it went!!

Happened a lot in my childhod as we moved so much.

Dad made her a dolls hose once. 6 months later we moved - and he gave it to some children down the road :-|

I remember Baco too. My sibling had that. I'm not sure I was ever allowed to use it though but I remember having a go so I'm guessing I sneaked it. I had Better Builder and remember creating a bungalow with it. The little bricks were white and there were red window and door frames.

Maggie. We had a train set. I loved it. It would be worth a lot now. It had a black steam engine and I think The Mallard. The male parent just gave it to my cousin's boys one day. I pleaded to be allowed to keep it but he said no and that it had to go to boys. He was never able to forgive me for not being a son and was cruel at every chance.

He never gave my Meccano away though. I managed to keep that. I remember receiving it one Christmas. It's in my loft now. It's all metal and not plastic and I'm guessing produced circa 1964.

Before Lego - like 70 years ago! there something almost identical made of rubber - when you made houses etc. you could bounce them! Only ever played with other people's - asked for it, was told they were too expensive, goodness knows what my mum would made of a £45,000 bag!
