Sorry to hear that you've lost a good friend Malcolm. I haven't yet lost any good friends, but I am now at an age when I know it may happen and I dread it.

How sad that he, and Julie as Ann mentioned, were so young.

Malcolm I am sorry you have lost a friend. Ann I am sorry it´s a bad run up for you.
Stray you are so right and there are more suicides at this time of year than any other. I think it´s because it´s so made out to be a family time and the lonelies have a problem,

Check ya single neighbours look after your friends

I too think that it is a sad time.I was helping out in the catering for the funeral yesterday at my blind ,diabetic trombonist friends house as his wife died after a fall in Te**o about 6 weeks ago.
Goodness knows how he will manage as he lives in quite a large house and has a dog who is also diabetic.
Sorry to hear about your friend Malcolm.50 is no age R.I.P. Gary

Brenda

Edit....she fell 6 weeks ago and after 2 operations and a lot of excellent care in Liverpool and N Wales she lost the fight just over a week ago.

Loving thoughts to anyone who is suffering a loss.

Always remember the good times and as Harry says "happy days"

Brenda, sorry to hear of the death of your blind friend,s wife. This is the friend you play jazz with I assume? How sad for him. Is he capable of looking after himself. How has he coped these past six weeks. I hope he is able to retain his independence.

Jude, I didn't recognise Julie from the surname, not until Joy mentioned Julie with urns. It is so sad, such a lovely person and her children so young.

Yes Ann this is the same one I take to a Jazz night along with another chap who is a fan and I drive a 50 mile return trip with them every Thurs,,,,it may not be every week in winter as its down the Conwy valley to,Betws y Coed and can be a bit dodgy.
It helps me as well as life has to go on.
I also practice in his house with another guitarist on Tues night. He seems to manage. He has a lady cleaner and a lady who walks his dog and a few friends from church.I think he will have to have some more help but he's a stubborn man.
He now has a phone that spells out the name and number, and a wonderful gadget that tells him the colour of anything he runs it over...quite accurate as well.
That was after a lady we know at the jazz said ...A has one blue and one brown sock on !
I do take him to get a bit of shopping when I go and tell him where I put it.
We don't realise how lucky we are to be able to see things.

Thank you all for your wishes for Gary. He was a great Character.

I find I deal with the passing of sick friends by immediately thinking of them not as I saw them when they were suffering, but "made whole" again, cleansed of pain by their passing, then after a short period of grief I can think about them and smile.

Thanks again on behalf of our community.
