Thank you for that Susan, our 14 year old Molly Dog cannot chew anything hard, so if anyone tries these recipes can they please let me know the ones that are chewy rather than crunchy so I can try some on her.

Hi Carol

if you search for dog recipes on Amazon, you will find many books on the subject....I have just ordered one that gives 3 dog biscuit cutters.

Read some of the reviews, some mention food and treats for older or sickly dogs

Thank you Susan .... I baked Molly a batch, they smelt good ... waited for them to cool & offered her one ... she looked at it, smelt it ... gave me a glare & went back to her bed. :-|

Will get my husband to try her with one, she trusts him more as it has always been me medicating her, she probably things I have hidden something in them :-D :-D :-D

Not our Molly dog Merlin, she was had too many times with that.

How she can eat a piece of sausage then spit out the tablet that has been hidden inside amazes me.

:-D

Susan thank you for that. I am due to cook another weeks batch of food for my mutts tomorrow and I can see some treats being cooked along the way also.

Rose how wise you are to say when you can sensibly afford a dog.
I feed my 2 for less than €9 a week (that is food, biscuits and the odd treat) because I cook their food. No doubt you have vet bills in mind and yes that is something to think of, admittedly mine cost as I have epi dog who I can´t insure and I also keep them passported (€120 each year for the 2). Then there is the flee and tic treatment and worming not that expensive but still a cost. Remember you do have the PDSA in the UK which will be good in emergency vet bills or you can insure.
