Have been using Google Chrome for a long time and I really like it. Have never had any problems with it.

Ronald
if Michael has had a notice on his Pc that IE8 is going to be unsupported soon then

I have had the same notice according to Microsoft we are not allowed to use IE9 on a PC that has IE8 on it.

Just wondering what to do myself as I like IE and don't really want to change from it.

Malcolm you are a bit behind with your version of IE, I've been using IE9 for months and no probs. Tried Chrome, not impressed, but have kept it installed as a back up.

I've always used IE with no probs so never really bothered faffing about trying other 'makes'

Chrome demands that you get used to its unique interface. However after a little while the logic of the UI becomes obvious. Chrome is also the most secure with automatic updates. Chrome is very efficient, making fewer demands on the others for CPU and memory resources. Finally it is easily ahead of the others in being up to date with the latest web developments. GRU team appear to use Chrome as their reference platform.

Firefox is profligate with memory though they are trying to improve this. It easily wins the easy-to-use stakes and runs most modern web sites. There is a stripped down version called Pale Moon.

Opera is fastest and totally standards compliant. Easiest to adapt for partially sighted people.

Dolphin is the best browser for Android.

IE - any version - is just plain awful.

I usually use Firefox on Linux.

good luck

It seems to depend on our computer. Until recently I'd never used anything else but Windows and IE, currently i'm on version IE8 Windows XP and it works for most things except GR.

I loaded Mozilla Firefox and find GR works brilliantly fast and all the graphics are correct. Still use IE8 for all my other stuff. Never used Chrome.

Hi Michael2,

I use Mozilla Firefox, the latest addition. I'm not keen to try Chrome as I believe some people are having problems with it.

Carole.
