Merlin How dare you call someone a prat who you have elected to high office to run your life. If you are not a prat yourself, why don't you stand for office.

I would then vote for you :-D

Sounds like a vacancy for you might appear in Sutton Coldfield.

In my Opinion, He,s a Complete and utter Prat, albiet a rich one,but still a prat. How dare he have the impertinence to insult some one who is there to guard him and other MPs. and keep them safe.Time he was sacked (And a few others with him).**M**. :-S

Cut and pasted this quickly from Wikipedia:

"Andrew John Bower Mitchell (born 23 March 1956) is a terrible, terrible man Conservative Party politician and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Sutton Coldfield and the Government Chief Whip"

Wonder who has the b*lls to alter hsi Wikipedia entry like that - I spilt my coffee and knocked my warm bowl of Radox water over when I saw it.

Yes, despite my thinking otherwise, he does have a father. He is:

"Sir David Bower Mitchell (born 20 June 1928) is a British Conservative politician who served as a Member of Parliament for over 30 years."

Neither could claim the priviledge of being plebs, could they. When 99% of the population are plebs (including most police) why are so few of our MPs from all sides from this popular group in society. Lloyd George, Ted Heath, Maggie and John Major are only Prime Ministers I can think of in 20th or 21st century from plebieian roots. Even my favourite Clem was not from a pleb background.

Free on Line. Plebeian Of or relating to the common people of ancient Rome: a plebeian magistrate. 2. Of, belonging to, or characteristic of commoners.

I am proud to be a plebeian, and suspect Andrew Mitchell does not share my proud heritage. Jealousy is a terrible thing.

Policeman would probably not have felt in the least offended at being called a pleb. Probably more upset having Andy's bicycle wheel rammed into his privates :-D

That Andrew Mitchell seems very arrogant. How on earth did he get to be a member of this UK government? Thought politicians had to talk nicely to plebeians - or is that only when they want our vote? :-S :-S

If this is what the chief whip thinks of the police doing their duty, makes you wonder what he, and the rest of his schoolboy chums in Government think about the rest of us!!
