That looks great, the willoughby's were alices parents, all areas make sense.
Because Alice didnt show on the 1901 cencus does that mean she had left that home at 15/16?

Date of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec 1932
Registration district: York
Inferred County: Yorkshire East Riding
Volume Number: 9d

Find Spouse: Find Spouse

This IS the marriage of esther and frank BUT its been put in wrong when you look at the original its Esther M A Watson married to Frank

Name: Frank Bright
Spouse Surname: Watson
Date of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec 1932
Registration district: York
Inferred County: Yorkshire East Riding
Volume Number: 9d

The numbers you now need are
9d and 134 and the quater is oct/nov/dec

You now need to get the marriage certificate to find the father of both people

Island

Island Report 26 Sep 2012 18:52

Hi Karina, you asked what you might be doing 'wrong'.
I'm not being critical but I did a search for 'Augustas' and got zilch, but 'Augustus' -

Name
Augustus Charles Hall
Year of Registration 1884
Quarter of Registration Jul-Aug-Sep
Registration District Newbury
Registration County Berkshire
Volume Number 2C
Volume Page 245

I don't think GR caters for the odd typo but it's always worth trying a variation wherever you search as mistranscriptions are around too!

PS Certificates have to be purchsed - only buy them from the GRO though (General Register Office) or you might end up 'paying through the nose'

It's worth looking at Freereg for earlier baptisms, marriage and burials as these give more details - not many have been transcribed yet but you might be lucky.

Island's last post should be expanded on, but her basic advice is correct.
Buy thru the GRO - you will have to register as a 1st time user, but then you can order - say you have the reference details (as per KempinaThermalhat's post) - for a marr, you only have to name one of the couple.

As Island infers, you can get other companies to place the order for you, but that will more than double the cost to you. Do it yourself and it costs 9.25GBP (includes postage).

As I mentioned in my previous post, you can also buy BMD certs from the local rego office. The cost is usually comparable to the GRO, but, after you've added on posatage + miscell extras, a tad more.

Lastly, if it's a church marr, there's the original marr rego. You can buy an m.cert from the vicar if it's in his current rego (but 1932 won't be there). When the rego's full, it will be deposited in some archive, usually the county records office. Some of these have online images (but I don't think Berks does) - they might not make more recent images available (more recent as defined by them), but there are some online collections available - sometimes thru paid sites. Other times, you can go to the archive and get an image printed from their film at a cheapish cost.

========================================

If I'm right, and Frank's illegitimate, then the entry showing his father's name can be problematic - he might lie and invent a name (usually a William or John, never a Francis Xavier - my dad's step-father invented one) - it might be left blank - or it might be accurate - my g gran's was (he was also named in her baptismal parish record). In any event, it's not likely to be too helpful. What is more likely to be helpful is his home addy - you can check against the electoral roll to see what other Bakers lived there then.
