I have a hospital bed thingy which is handy :-D - laptop, graphics pad and room for tea cup. Adjustable height and can be pushed aside so the legs fit under coffee table so takes up no floor space. Printer is housed on the entertainment unit.

My laptop sits on a desk (Ikea) which fits into a corner of my office, and at the side of it is a drawer/cabinet thing (Ikea) ontop of which is the printer/fax/copier...all very compact and bijoux, well it has to be, because the rest of the room is piled high with family history stuff.

When I'm at my town house darlinks, I use the dining room table for my laptop and printer because I dont have room for a hoffice!! :-(

Bought two old wood wardrobes years ago from auction for about £12 stripped them down and OH re---fashioned built them as an L shape desk in the spare room..brilliant solid and plenty of room for everything,,,,,,,the doors made housing for tower and the then printer.my now monitor is on the wall..


Laptop sits on a laptop table downstairs but prefer me desktop up here.......

My BIL did same for his equipment .

Rose an old set of wood drawers that stand off the floor can make ideal desk if adapted.....they are cheap now at auctions as no one wants brown furniture,,,

A light coloured table from Ikea which started off life as a desk for one of the offspring to study at. The tower is in the floor underneath it.

OH made a shelving unit on castors to fit underneath which supposed to house the printer. Then the PC went and died, and the replacement compatable printer won't fit on the shelves :-0

So now the home made unit with the printer on top sits at right angles to the desk.

Kay, I've kicked myself for months that I didn't buy the 'perfect' table at auction, but because I don't drive and the 'van man' there charges a lot ( it's also a good way away from here) I couldn't really get it.

But you're absolutely right about the brown furniture I have seen some great small furniture there solid oak going for a song, I'm hoping that D will pass his test asap :-D

my desk is a flatpack job, I sit in the corner of the study. OH has a "proper" desk, with all the bits & bobs........ but that's his job!

My desk is tidier. I have loads of documents, but they're stored in boxes, his desk looks like a paper factory explosion.

Don't tell anyone, but due to doecorating taking place in the "office" (or more correctly - not taking place at the moment) My furniture is either stored in the shed, or on its side in the middle of the room. Have moved the computer into the front room and am usng my ironing board as a desk/table.
Height is adjustable - and I can't do any ironing. :-D

Used to have a laptop but now I've got a desktop that sits in the corner of my kitchen where my microwave used to live. OH has his desktop in a pine computer cabinet with doors that can close up and hide it in the living room...not room for two in there and I spend most of my time in the kitchen anyhow x

OH and I have the two smallest bedrooms as our rooms. My pc is on a 'desk' put together by OH, It consists of the main desk, pine, a set of three drawers each side with a space in the middle, key board on a roll out shelf underneath. At the end of the left hand side a matching set of three drawers so the tower and flat screen monitor sit on that and there is room for my notebook and I Pad plus room for my card making. Above the tower is a shelf which holds the printer and separate scanner. The wall above has four shelves, three of which are the width of the desk/drawers and hold mostly craft stuff, books, CD/DVDs and books (f H and craft).

OH has a purpose built corner desk as his room is smaller than mine (which has the bed settee in it). :-)

OH bought me computer desk from Staples, it holds my laptop,
printer, phone, writing pad and most important my mug of tea. :-)
It has 2 drawers and underneath I have my filing cases and various
boxes holding odds and sods dealing with family trees. Sits in my
living room at the back facing a wall, but to my right I look out the
patio doors and to my left can view the TV.Somedays I just sit with
lappy on arm of my chair.

When I moved into my home it had been vandalised quite a bit. The furniture fitter came to replace the fitted wardrobe doors,and suggested that one section was made to fit the pc, monitor, printer etc together with a pull out shelf for a keyboard at a comfortable height for typing.

I thought it such a good idea as I wouldn't have given it a thought. So I suppose I sit facing the wardrobe but when I finish I just slide the doors into place and its back to a bedroom....with a vacant office chair.-jl

Dining room table - have not eaten a meal in there now for years!!!!!! Too many papers and folders to tidy up.

I'm in the boarded loft and have a home-made unit made from bought cupboard to one side and deep filing drawer to the other, above which is pen drawer.
Along the top of these for it's full length is a white purpose-bought kitchen work-top, which is easily wiped, especially if I've written a quick note in pencil on it to remind myself of something.

We have the fixed computor on an old wooden desk in the spare room, but its too cold there so I mostly use a lap top.

I used to use it on my lap but had neck problems and resurrected by father's old mobile work top with casters that is adjustable in height and slope with a lip to stop the machine sliding off. Brilliant although it must to over 35 years old. I am also very guilty of sitting with the laptop in bed :-) My files are kept in the bedroom

I don't know where this old thing came from, served me well tho.

It's a proper compact little PC desk (MDF light grey) only about 2ft 6 wide metal framed and on castors, handy for when I do hoover around it ;-)

Both the Screen and tower are on top,
Roll out desk for keyboard,
Lower roll out shelf for scanner /printer ,
Bottom shelf for speakers and my shoes !!! lol

Son's is about 3ft 6 wide..tasteful light pine ;-)
The desk on his has the mouse and loads of paper on it..total mess.!
Roll out besk,below for keyboard ( which he's somehow bashed and is now lopsided )
Side shelf for the tower so plenty of legroom ( unlike mine ).
His had a straight shelf above the desk which was rather narrow for a big old lumpy Screen, so I designed a new shelf 12 inches one end and the with a graceful curve bringing it out to 18 ins at other end for Screen and speakers..hubby had to buy the wood and make it tho!
Son now has a flat screen, so plenty more room to litter the said shelf with paperwork and CDs :-|

The rest have laptops or I pads, which are to be found in their usual places... they are tidy in that respect !...dau's on her bed , hubby's down side of settee ,I pad by the phone...at least I know where they all are if I have a prob with mine and needed to use them. :-D

My full sized Office Desk which I retained after I sold up and retired. :-D

Mine's a desk top and sits across a corner built in desk with drawers and cupboards built in each side running the length of 2 walls of a small room. Plenty of desk top across all the units, but oh how quickly it fills up with 'stuff' besides the phone and printer!! OH has retired now and is trying to gradually 'take over'!! Wish I had a craft room Trish, the rest of this room is a wall of bookcases.
