Just being nosey as to whether people have a posh desk or a cheap work station, wood/galss/ MDF etc.

I need something other than this tiny table which I have been using since I gave D my desk, at the moment I can use one hand only to type because the keyboard is at a slant, otherwise it knocks the mouse on the floor :-| and it's driving me batty.

Looking on ebay there are so many types, but none yet that I like as a 'piece of furniture' as well as functional.

I have a huge desk. its in my 3rd bedroom as its the full width of the room under the window. It consists of two wood bow fronted 2 drawer cabinets, one each side, with a plate glass top over it on its own frame. I was lucky SIL was getting rid of the top with its frame cos they moved their PC,s into the 3rd bedroom and they wanted a work station to take two laptops and a Monitor with its tower PC under. plus two printers etc

I get loads on my desk papers, files ,monitor, speakers and printer and still have room to spare. The only downside is the glass does get very dusty and marked .

Mine sits on my knee and when I get fire burns on my thighs, I put it on my laptray. My previous stacking computer was on a desk - cheap MDF. Came as a freebie with the computer.

My printer is in a cupboard.

My notebook thingy sits at the end of my kitchen table. Can be shoved out of the way when necessary. My printer is hidden away under a table. :-)

I've got a desk top with tower, large printer and scanner on a desk I've had from my office days,it's about 9 years old and my son says its too slow now and he is supposed to be tranferring the stuff on my hard drive on the more up to date laptop that I got for my OH as he couldn't get up stairs during the last years of his life

That is windows 7 and I still like my xp,but suppose I'll get used to it.

But...I use my iPad most of the time now as it is so quick and very convenient...in fact I love it and only go on the computer when I want to scan or print .

Dear Rambling Rose

Hello

Hope you are okay.

I put my PC on top of a wooden stool, that used to have the
main telephone on it. The stool and PC can travel anywhere!

Take gentle care
Very best wishes

Bought our wooden desk from Ikea, there were lots to choose from Rose.

It's fairly wide and has room on top for computer & printer with tower underneath. Has a drawer and three shelves, one for the scanner and others for paper, folders etc. and space for a lamp, stationery etc.on top.Key board on pull out shelf.

Have it in the spare room.....my playroom ;-) :-D

Until recently, my computer was in the spare bedroom, on a 'proper' computer table.
I've just started using my g grans old sewing table, which fits nicely in an alcove in the living room, with a gap at the side for the tower..
Need to put up a shelf for the printer..

I have a huge traditional wooden desk that was my Dad's. It has a filing cabinet on one side and drawers on the other with a pen drawer at the top. It has the PC, a scanner and a printer on the top. There is also room for my laptop as well if I'm shifting stuff about.

'imself has a second hand office desk beside mine that he bought from work when they moved offices.

They are in the conservatory at the back of the house overlooking the garden so we can watch the birds and squirrels.
