Hi Guys

I have a Plotter in my office (A large scale printer for drawing street maps etc) I have been trying to print my tree on it, but it doesnt recognise Genes Reunited. I also tried to put my tree on a PDF but the programe that i was using said that my tree was to big to transfer.

Could anyone help me with this or tell me about a programe that i can copy my tree to in order for the office plotter to print my tree.

A family tree is a specific layout that has to have its own type of file called a gedcom file,

A gedcom file can be opened by some other document types but will not be displayed as a "Tree" you can print this but as i said it will not be in a tree format,

If you don't have a family tree program on your PC then i don't see how you could print your tree

You could try,

export your Gedcom from GR, this file will be sent to your email addy as an attachment, Then you could buy or download a free family tree program to open the Gedcom and print,

also i believe you can now download a free "gedcom viewer" but never tried so cannot say if you could use it to print your tree

You will find these through Google

Hi

Thanks for replying. I know all about Gedcoms, i've been researching for 3 years! The plotter won't print a family tree from a Gedcom File. The only way to print my tree from Genes in Tree format is when the tree is fully branched out, But as my tree is too large it won't allow me to do this.

However it does give me a message stating that genes are working on a new program to trick the printer into printing a large family tree. Would anyone know when this will be launched on the site?
