1956 - I wore an outfit I loved - bright red duffle coat, navy slacks and bright pink fluorescent socks with navy ballet shoes. I thought I was the bees knees! |

I remember the fluorescent socks got mixed up with my daughter in the 80's. Then they wore odd colours. My friend had a circular skirt. She called it her 'ole' skirt. Seem to remember those skirts were worn with flat ballerina type shoes. |

I have one of those photographs with the 'perm'. It was about 1975 only I wasn't 14! Mine always came out too tight as they never allowed for the fact that my hair had a bit of a kink anyway. Looked nice when it 'dropped' a bit |

Now you mention it Chris I vaguely remember having a black taffeta circular skirt. I couldn't jive but I think that is when they were popular when jiving first became so popular. But worn with ballerina pumps I think. |

My knitted shift dress was a disaster!! When you sat in it for half an hour and then stood up it kept the shape of your bottom when sitting down and stuck out behind......and it itched like mad. Oh and fringed bell bottoms with actual bells on!! lol I had some red tartan trews too. |

Flared jeans/trousers. I had an olive green pair, I unpicked the outside seams from the knee down and inserted a triangular piece of contasting colour matrial to make the flares bigger. lol |
