Hi Wendy

The only problem would be keeping the main culprit from bringing it all back in again + anything else that has been skipped :-(

Hi Lolly

It's lovely to read your reply, an ideal way of getting rid of all the stuff you don't want and have hoarded over the years - as long as you only have 60 minuets worth. With about 20 people on the job it shouldn't be a problem

I would love It..!!

Providing I could keep all my Knick Knacks out of harms way

Then they could load several skips with all the "good pieces of wood, handy piece of iron, don't throw that away" items my OH has hoarded for years.

It wouldn't leave any time for an actual makeover but at least I would have some space :-D

They may do a good job at times??? But we watched one where they took chunks out of the walls whilst trying to get too big furniture up the stairs. I couldn't help wondering if they would put this right afterwards which really meant redecorating the whole of the hall, stairs and landing as they were all papered to match.

I think it's an intrusion of privacy.
A home is not just decor, it's the years of memories and items bought that have been collected to make it comfortable for the occupants.

I would hate it if a team came here and have often told my family what I think of the idea.

There used to be a programme called something like Garden Magic. It was quite pleseant. The premise was that someone who felt that a friend deserved a reward could nominate them for the programme.A couple of gardeners would then come and do some small work or alteration in the garden. My friend Sarah wanted to put my name forward and asked me if she could. I said I wasn't keen but it meant masses that she thought so much of me.

I wouldn't have any makeover programme actually in my house.I watched part of a programme once and it was just too much for me. All those people all judging my life and dumping it in a skip.

Rose, You remember that one then?

It was horrendous, I had to rip the lot out whilst the film crew were still their, OH was devastated and would not go back into the room until i had removed it all

I was amazed at the bad workmanship, Good job they never wanted payment for it because a child could have done better

OH! The "knickers on the wall" have even made it into my son's vocabulary when describing something a bit 'tacky' lol he only mentioned it the other day :-D

I think decorating etc. needs a lot of thought. We've recently had a lot of building work done, and I find you have to 'live' in a room for a few weeks before deciding on colours or decor.

Porkie_Pie

Porkie_Pie Report 1 May 2012 16:28

Not that one,

Me and the wife had just bought a second home to do up and rent out, and she thought it would be a good idea to see if she could get them to do a bedroom because she had always wanted to be on such a programme,

A nurse and Nickers on a bedroom wall?

I stayed out of it but i was the one who had to rip their bodge job out and start again
