The records for Scottish Roman Catholics are held at The Scottish Catholic Archive and the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Glasgow.

'We got cured' :-S

Makes them sound like sides of ham........ :-D

I think you will have to approach the Roman Catholic Diocese of Westminster. They have an archivist but are not, apparently, very forthcoming re records. Not like the Anglicans then......... :-D

Yes...The churches should be able to help as should the CFHS ......There are not too many about I am afraid. I too have problems finding records that only a visit to the church will reveal the entries :-(

Hmm - as soon as they see I dont have a shadow they throw water at me.

I have done just that at the local church and the priest was really helpful.

He told me to contact the catholic fhs. Which I did without success.

Maybe you need to be catholic :-D

Or maybe they've been spying on these boards, read your threads and blacklisted you [conspiracy theory]

I know, wrong board, but see if I care.

Has anyone had any luck with getting information from the catholics?

Specifically, I want to track down the records for 1861 for St Phillips catholic orphanage in Kensington, London. No joy. I've emailed and written to the catholic churches in the area and also to the catholic FHS, but not even a reply. I said I would pray, but I think they knew I had my fingers crossed.

So my question is this. How do you extract information from them, or is it even possible to do this? Do you need a secret word or handshake?
