Yes, I'm the same. I bought a large collection of photos from the 40's and 50's a few years ago. Its great seeing things like the houseboats at Seaton Sluice harbour, the quayside and the fish quay. I was going to make them into a website - will get round to it one day.

Yes definitely the hoppings imo (Murhphy's) Eldrick and Paddy's Market....memories of Sunday morning....

St Mary''s Island ?.....on the photos. Fred? hadn't noticed that one.

Did think Beverly Terrace, Cullercoats was one....St George's church in the background, and what look like tents on the beach/Links?.....lots of folk.Could it have been Harbour Day or a church gathering perhaps?

I could spend hours looking at very old historical pictures :-D

Outstanding! The clothe market ones are Paddys Market on Ncle Quayside - I think. I remember similar on Sundays 30 years ago.

Are some of them on the town moor? The Hoppings perhaps?

Great site, thanks for that.,

Marvellous views of a bygone age, discovered in an old box containing glass plate negatives.
