Great news that your grandson is back with his dad and family, Annie. I hope it all goes well, he will need a lot of understanding from his dad and stepmum but hopefully things will turn out well and the lad can go on to a better life turn out well, as you instilled in him when you had him.

Hope his uncle gets the book thrown at him, what a rotten man

Annie - I too had a big smile when I read of your gson's smile. Hopefully he can put these bad times behind him eventually. These gparents sound as if they took all (assuming they got some guardians allowance) and could neither feed him nor dress him. Poor lad. He will feel he is in seventh heaven.

Good news then Annie, I am sure he only stole to buy what they should have bought him. Once had a foster child for two weeks who came to us because she had stolen from her previous short term foster parents (she only had foster care when her special school had holidays). She was 13 and it turned out that she stole to buy Christmas presents for her siblings because the school/home wouldn't release any of her own money. She did shopping for me and never defaulted on the change.

Thank you all for your replys.Time my son and myself had got to social services this morning they already knew. The hospital had put a report through.Uncle has been arrested.,Grandson having photos taken with the police.Took grandson to social services with us and he had trainers on that were all split and let in the water and they smelt terrible. They were bought when he went to live with them at the end of May last year.He was still wearing the clothes i had bought and had no new stuff. He has not been given no money for his dinners.Social services handed him back to my son to live as he now has a house and room for him.A big smile came over grandsons face.
Annie
P.S He never stole anything while he was with me.

Sorry to hear this Annie, no excuse for beating a child like that and no doubt the hospital will report that side of things. OK he stole but that was no way to punish him, and they should be looking at themselves first. I doubt they will though so I hope that you can get some sort of help for him.

Annie, that poor lad, how on earth could his mother's family treat him so badly, he had done so well with you and seemed to be making good progress to adulthood. I hope he will be ok and you can do something to help him, so sad that he had to sell all the things you had given him and they didn't look after him properly. The uncle sounds as awful as his mother, what a dreadful family.

Bless him, the powers that be wonder why kids go wrong, what hope does he have when people turn against him and don't show him the love and care he so desperately needs.

The poor boy has had so much to contend with over the years - I hope that something good will come out of this and he will be able to be in a safe place.

Oh Annie - you must be in bits - no child should have to suffer such a thing - I do hope he's OK and that the swine who did this gets his just desserts - what a pig!!

Hope he will be OK Annie. I expect they blame him for selling some DVD.s rather than looking at their own conduct .

A 15 y.o. isn't a baby but he's still a child. No matter what he's done he doesn't deserve a beating by an anyone especially an adult.

You must be so worried,
I remember your grandson came to live with you,and he became settled with you.
How can a grown man hit a 15year old? Thats terrible.
Hope you can get some answers, and hope your grandson is ok.
Poor lad,thinking of you both.

Thinking of the young lad Annie and hoping he will soon heal and be in a safe place.

I have a grandson around that age and can't imagine how awful I'd feel if something happened to him.
